Broadwell wins twice on senior day
Sartell, MN. – St. Cloud State Tennis (3-12, 1-9 NSIC) were defeated 5-2 in a tight match against MSU Moorhead Sunday afternoon. Brooklyn Broadwell and Gibby Chapman would each come away with two wins in the match.
Doubles
With only four Huskies available to compete, MSUM would get a forfeit win at the No. 3 doubles spot. Brooklyn Broadwell and Gibby Chapman produced a 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot to even the score at 1-1. In a hard-fought match in the No. 1 spot, the Dragons would capture a 7-6 win as they secured the doubles point.
Singles
Moving into singles play, MSU Moorhead would add two more forfeit wins to lead 3-0. In the No. 4 spot, Chapman put the first point on the board for the Huskies with a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 win over Emma Farder. A straight set win in the No. 2 spot would clinch the match for MSUM. In the No. 1 spot, Lara-Maria Schaefer would battle back from a first set deficit with a 6-4 win in set two to force a deciding third set. She would ultimately be defeated in the final set. Broadwell would also rally after dropping her first set as a 63 win in set two sent the match to the third set. Broadwell would complete the comeback with a 6-2 win in set three as the score would be finalized at 5-2.

- St. Cloud State is now 47-11 all-time against MSU Moorhead and have lost four straight matches.
- Gibby Chapman and Brooklyn Broadwell captured their third win as a duo and finish the season 3-3. This was Chapman's fifth doubles win this season and Broadwell's fourth.
- Chapman came away with her fifth singles win of the year and finishes the season with a 5-10 record. This was her second straight set win.
- Broadwell won her 12th singles match of the season with her third third set win. She finishes the season with a 12-3 record and a 7-3 mark against the NSIC. Broadwell was the lone graduating senior for the Huskies and finishes her career with a 45-41 record.
