Huskies Fall 4-3 in Hard Fought Battle to Gustavus Adolphus

Sánchez Mendivil wins twice
Orlando, FL. – St. Cloud State Tennis (2-6, 1-3 NSIC) lost 4-3 to Gustavus Adolphus in a hard-fought battle Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies would tally three points from three singles wins.
Doubles
Gustavus Adolphus would clinch the doubles point following a pair of 6-3 wins in the No. 3 and No. 2 spots. Lara-Maria Schaefer & Liliana Ruy Sánchez Mendivil battled in the No. 1 spot and ultimately produced a 7-6 (7-2) tiebreaker win.
Singles
Moving to singles play, the Gusties came away with straight set wins in the No. 6 and No. 5 spots to go up 3-0. Brooklyn Broadwell gave the Huskies their first point of the match with a 6-3, 6-3 straight set win in the No. 4 spot. GAC captured a win in the No. 3 spot as they ultimately clinched the match. Sánchez Mendivil came away with her second win of the day following a straight set win in the No. 1 spot. Margarita Vinichenko added the Huskies final point with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) tiebreaker straight set win to finalize the score at 4-3.
