Schaefer and Broadwell pick up singles wins
Sioux Falls, S.D. – St. Cloud State Tennis (3-7, 1-4 NSIC) were defeated 5-2 against Sioux Falls Friday evening at the Huether Family Match Pointe. Lara-Maria Schaefer and Brooklyn Broadwell came away with singles wins in the match.
Doubles
The Cougars would secure the doubles point with a pair of 6-2 wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spot. SCSU would default the final doubles match as USF would lead 1-0.
Singles
Moving to singles play, Sioux Falls produced three straight set wins along with another default win as they ultimately clinched the match. Lara-Maria Schaefer gave the Huskies their first point of the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win at the No. 3 spot. After dropping the first set in the No. 4 spot, Brooklyn Broadwell rallied to win the next two sets with a 10-8 superbreaker victory in set three to secure her win. The score would be finalized at 5-2.
