Huskies Drops Match 6-1 Match to Minnesota State

SCSU loses third straight match
Rogers, MN. – St. Cloud State Tennis (3-9, 1-6 NSIC) dropped a 6-1 match to Minnesota State Saturday afternoon. Lara-Maria Schaefer would pick up a pair of wins throughout the match.
Doubles
The Mavericks would take the doubles point as they opened with a 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot and then a 6-4 win at the No. 3 spot. In the No. 1 spot, Liliana Ruy Sánchez Mendivil and Lara-Maria Schaefer battled in a hard fought match and came away with a 6-4 victory.
Singles
Moving to singles play, Minnesota State came away with three straight set wins as they clinched the match. After dropping the first set in the No. 3 spot, Schaefer rallied back with a 7-6 (7-5) win in set two. She completed the comeback with a 10-8 victory in the third set to put the lone point on the board for the Huskies. The Mavericks would ultimately win by score of 6-1.
