Detroit Lakes, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's golf team opened the 2013 fall season with a successful debut. The Huskies tied for third in a field of 14 teams in the Cobber Open hosted by Concordia College Moorhead at the Wildflower Golf Club in Detroit Lakes.

The Huskies first team posted a team score of 317. St. Cloud State also entered a second team that posted a score of 352 and finished in 11th place. North Dakota State was the team champion posting a team score of 292.

Laurel Enstrom (Rock Island, Ill.), in her collegiate debut tied for seventh place, posting a four over par 76. Two others, Brooke Taylor (Chandler, Ariz.) and Katie Kruchten (St. Cloud) placed in the top 15. Taylore shot a 78 to finish in 13th place while Kruchten shot a 79 and tied for 14th place.

The Huskies continue their season today (Saturday) and tomorrow in the Cobber Invite, also played at Wildflower.
