St. Cloud State Women's Hockey meets Mankato on Oct. 17-18

On Oct. 17, the Huskies will play the Mavericks in Mankato, Minn. at 7:07 p.m. Â The series will be completed with a 7:07 p.m. game between the two squads at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Â Tickets for the game in St. Cloud are available at the gate. Â All SCSU students with a valid ID card will be admitted FREE to this WCHA contest at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Huskies Split
The St. Cloud State Huskies took on Lindenwood University in their first home series of the 2014-15 season. SCSU took home a win on Friday with a score of 2-0 and lost on Saturday 5-3
Rud's First Win
This is coach Eric Rud's first season with the Huskies. He led the team to victory on Friday and gained his first win as head coach and first win on home ice.Â
Slattery's Weekend
Lexi Sattery, who came to St. Cloud State after two season at Providence, played a big role in Friday's win over Lindenwood. She scored her first goal in the St. Cloud uniform and got the assist on the second goal. She managed a two point game as a defense in a 2-0 win.Â
Friend's First Shutout
Senior goaltender and assistant captain faced 27 shots in 60 minutes of play on Friday's game, stopping all of them and gaining her first shutout of the season.Â
Arbogast Gets 2
Senior forward Amanda Arbogast stood out in Saturday's 5-3 loss. She netted the last two goals for the Huskies making it a 2 goal game and putting up her first point of the season.Â
Sophomore Stand Out
Payge Pena leads her sophomore class in points and is #3 on the team so far this season. She scored a goal a game in the Lindenwood series, making it a two point weekend and her third consecutive game with a goal.Â
Illikainen Contributes
Junior forward, Molly Illikainen has been a leader on ice so far this season. She has received one point each game in 4 games, two goals and two assists, making her the team leader with four points on the board.Â
Penalty Kill
St. Cloud's Penalty kill has been a  solid part of their game. The huskies took 11 total penalties in the series against Lindenwood. During the Oct. 10 match up they managed to kill off 5 penalties and goaltender Julie Friend stopped a penalty shot that was awarded to Lindenwood after Audrey Hanmer took a player down on a breakaway. On Oct. 11 they took 5 more penalties, letting only one of five goals in on the PK.Â
Powerplay
The Huskies scored three of five goals on the powerplay in the weekend series. They were awarded 6 powerplays on Oct. 10 game, scoring both goals with a man advantage, and they had 7 in the game on Oct. 11, taking advantage and scoring their first goal of the game.Â

Audrey Hanmer recorded 12 shots on the weekend, leading the team as a defense. Molly Illikainen follows with 9 shots recorded on net in 2 games.Â
