The Huskies came out right away in the first inning taking a 2-0 lead over Minot State. With Brandon Arnold at third base as he reached on a single and then stole second, Garrett Fischer grounded out to second for the 2-0 lead.
Double plays by St. Cloud kept the Beavers scoreless in the first three innings. St. Cloud would extend their lead in the bottom of the third inning as Loxtercamp started it off with a huge triple and followed by Arnold hitting another triple. A single by Jurgella made it a 4-0 game over the Beavers and a double through the right side by Karl Sorensen made it a 5-0 game to end the inning.
St. Cloud's biggest inning came in the bottom of the fourth inning where they put-up four runs on six hits for a 9-0 lead over Minot State. Zach Hoffman earned a RBI with a single through the left side and Fischer hit a two-run triple to left center. Travis Enger scored the final run of the inning for the Huskies off a single to right field.
Minot State was able to get on the board in the fifth inning posting one run off a ground out to second as the Huskies turned a double play. The Beavers put up two more runs in the top of the seventh making it a 9-3 game.
The Huskies were not going to let Minot make a comeback as they extended their leading scoring three runs in the seventh and two runs in the eighth to seal a 14-3 victory. St. Cloud ended the game with 25 hits and recorded only one error.
Leading the Huskies at the plate was third baseman Karl Sorensen going 5-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs and leftfielder Brandon Arnold as he went 4-for-6 with four runs and three RBIs.
