St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud State runningback Kenneth Walker rushed for three touchdowns to lead the #25 Huskies to a 43-20 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home opening win over Wayne State College Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies are 1-1 overall and in the NSIC. The Wildcats are 1-1 overall and in the NSIC.

Walker scored on runs of five, ten and 42 yards. He finished the game with seven carries for 76 yards. He also had three punt returns for 68 yards and three kick-off returns for 62 yards.

Huskies Highlights

The Huskies scored three times in the first half on quarterback Nate Meyer's one yard run, a 40-yard Eric Mielke field goal and Walker's five-yard run to take a 16-6 lead into halftime.
Quarterback Jameson Parsons scored with five minutes left in the third quarter to give the Huskies a 23-6 lead. Parsons rushed for 98 yards in the game and completed two of two passes for 28 yards.
St. Cloud State runningback Ledell White scored on a five yard run early in the fourth quarter to put the Huskies ahead 36-12. He finished the game with 15 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Tight end Grant Thayer caught three passes for 53 yards to lead the Huskies in receiving.
Safety Carvel Graham led the Huskies with nine tackles and one pass break-up.
Cornerback Keyshawn Davis had two interception, two pass break-ups and five tackles.
Free safety Kyle Risinger made eight solo stops.
The Huskies gained 283 yards on the ground and 59 yards passing for a game total of 342 yards

Wayne State Wildcats highlights

Wayne State passed for 288 yards and rushed for 139 yards.
Runningback Alex Kline rushed for a game high 106 yards and caught two passes for 52 yards and one touchdown.
Adam Stark caught seven passes for 119 yards and one touchdown
Cole McDaniel pulled in seven passes for 15 yards
Quarterback Zach Osborn completed 24 of 29 passes for 288 yards and three touchdown strikes.
Nick Monzu tallied a team high eight tackles and two tackles for loss
The Wildcats picked off two passes.

The Huskies travel to the University of Sioux Falls next Saturday for a 6 p.m. kick-off.
