St. Cloud, Minn. – Upper Iowa University tailback Chris Smith scored on a 19-yard runs with five seconds left in the game to lift the visiting Peacocks to a 37-31 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) win over St. Cloud State University Saturday night.

With the win the Peacocks improved to 4-0 overall and in the NSIC while the Huskies dropped to 1-3 overall and in league play.

Both teams scored on their opening drives in the first quarter. Smith capped a 75-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run to give the Peacocks a 7-0 lead. The Huskies answered with a 71-yard drive culminating in a 34-yard pass play from Nate Meyer to Taylor Berger.

Huskies Highlights
-The Huskies came back to tie the game twice in the second half. A 28-yard Eric Mielke field goal tied the game at 24-24 early in the fourth quarter. A Ledell White fumble recovery in the end zone tied the game at 31-31 with 2:50 left on the clock
-Runningback Ledell White rushed for a career high 129 yards on 15 carries and scored three touchdowns including a spectacular 67-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. He also caught two passes for 37 yards. It marked the second 100-yard rushing game of his career.
-Starting quarterback Nate Meyer threw his first touchdown pass of the season, a 34-yard completion to Taylor Berger early in the first quarter. He finished the game 19 of 35 passing for 249 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 46 yards.
-Wide receiver Matt Hentges caught a personal season and career high six passes for 93 yards including a long of 28 yards.
-Wide receiver Kasai Farris caught the first pass of his collegiate career in the first quarter, a 15 yard reception for a first down and finished the game with four catches for 36 yards.
-Linebacker Brady Westart tallied a game and career high 14 tackles. He made 11 solo stops.
-Free safety Kyle Risinger picked up his second interception of the season and sixth of his career. He finished the game with eight tackles.
-Cornerback Jordan Sefon collected the second interception of his career.
-The Huskies offense gained 473 yards of total offense and committed one turnover, a lost fumble.
-The loss ended a seven game home winning streak for the Huskies.
-The last time the Huskies started a season 1-3 was in 2009. The Huskies went on to post a 7-4 overall record that season.
-St. Cloud State opens NSIC North Division play next Saturday at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Upper Iowa Highlights
-The Peacocks are off to a 4-0 start for the first time since the 1964 season.
-Chris Smith provided nearly half of the Upper Iowa offensive yards rushing for 208 yards on 33 carries and scoring three touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 44 yards.
-Upper Iowa compiled 504 yards of total offense on 224 yards rushing and 280 passing yards.
-Quarterback Cole Jaeschke completed 29 of 38 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns, and threw two interceptions.
-Wide receiver Derek Giesking caught nine passes for 93 yards and one touchdown.
-Linebacker Alex Wahl made ten tackles including one tackle for loss.
-The Peacocks never trailed in the game and their largest lead, 24-14 was the result of a 20-yard pass play from Jaeschke to Giesking with 6:03 left in the third quarter.
-Upper Iowa will host Augustana College next Saturday in an NSIC South Division game.
