#2 St. Cloud State sweeps Bemidji State on April 22

In game one, the Huskies outhit the Beavers 19-9 in the 15-3 victory. Â SCSU charged to a 4-0 lead in the second inning and then added two more runs in the third inning to gain a 6-1 lead. Â In the fifth inning, SCSU iced the contest after scoring nine runs to gain a 15-1 lead. Â BSU added runs in the sixth and seventh inning to make the final score 15-3.
At the plate, SCSU was paced by Eric Loxtercamp, Karl Sorensen (also had three runs) and Kyle Lieser with three hits apiece in the game. Â Max Ditty also had two hits, three RBIs and one RBI in the contest, while Zak Hoffman had two hits, three runs and three RBIs. Â Of note, Zack Hoffmann, Hoffman and Alex Naasz all had doubles in the game.
On the mound, Garrett Harrison was the pitcher of record with four strikeouts and six hits allowed in five innings of work. Â Dylan Ramage and Nick Denny each pitched one inning in relief for the Huskies to finish the game.
In game two, SCSU outhit the Beavers 17-4 as Sheldon Miks posted the win for SCSU. Â Miks allowed three hits in the game and had one strikeout to push his record to 7-0 Â in 2015. Â Kevin Bolder, Ryan Diers, Karsen Forsman and Tyler Gentz all added one inning of relief pitching to complete the game.
SCSU charged to a 6-1 lead in the first and then pushed the lead to 13-1 with seven runs in the seventh inning. Â The Huskies ended the day with four more runs in the fourth inning to make it 17-1.
Mike Jurgella carded a home run in the game and also had three runs, three hits and two RBIs for the Huskies. Â Eric Loxtercamp also had three runs, three hits (including a triple) and three RBIs while Brandon Arnold belted a triple and also had two hits and two runs. Â Other Huskies with two hits were Zach Hoffmann, Zak Hoffman, Kyle Lieser and Beau Fandel, who also had three RBIs in the game.
The Huskies will continue the 2015 season on Saturday, April 25 with a 3 p.m. home doubleheader against Minot State. Â The Huskies will complete the weekend with a Noon doubleheader at Joe Faber Field on Sunday, April 26. Â The game on April 26 has been designated as SCSU Baseball Fan Appreciation Day. Â These two doubleheaders against Minot State will be the final regular season home games for the Huskies and the SCSU seniors will be saluted on April 26.
