St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State Volleyball team will conclude their home schedule for the season this weekend when they host Minnesota State Mankato Nov. 4 and Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 5 at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies (8-17, 3-13 NSIC) will first host the Mavericks (13-11, 7-9 NSIC) on Nov. 4. This marks the second match up between the two teams this season with the Mavericks taking the first meeting 3-1 in late September. The Huskies were led in the game by junior Becca Gruber who had a standout night accounting for 11 kills. Seniors Shannon Klink and Macy Weller each tacked on nine kills, and Marissa Kline dished out an impressive 40 assists.
First serve is set for 7 p.m. for the match.
The following afternoon the Huskies will play host to #1 Concordia-St. Paul (22-2, 14-2 NSIC). The two teams met at the beginning of October when the Golden Bears were able to sweep the Huskies 3-0. The Golden Bears completed the match with no hitting errors in the second set, while the Huskies offense had difficulty getting the ball down. St. Cloud State was again led by Weller, Gruber and Klink who had eight, six, and five kills respectively. Krista Kuglin accounted for the Huskies only ace on the match. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
Saturday's match up will also feature a celebration of this year's graduating seniors on the team. Macy Weller, Shannon Klink, Marissa Kline, and Taylor Rollo will all be honored for their time with the Huskies the last four seasons.
Tickets are still available for both games this weekend and can be purchased at the gate or at scsutickets.com. Students, don't forget that a simple swipe of your student ID can get you into all Husky home games for FREE!
