The St. Cloud State University baseball team (28-4, 13-4 NSIC) will continue its 2016 season on Wednesday, April 20 with a conference doubleheader at the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Â This NSIC doubleheader will start at 1:30 p.m. at the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.

St. Cloud State will not play any games over the weekend of April 23-24. Â The Huskies will then return to action on April 27 with a single doubleheader at Bemidji State. Â The first game against the Beavers is slated to start at 2 p.m.
SCSU BASEBALL NEWS AND NOTES:
St. Cloud State went 3-3 last week, which included wins over NSIC leaders CSP and Augustana. Â The Huskies are now 28-4, 13-4 NSIC and received the number one ranking in this week's NCBWA DII Central Region poll.
SCSU leads the nation at the NCAA DII level in several offensive team stat categories including best batting average (.387), home runs per game (1.88), doubles per game (3.09), slugging percentage (.656) and scoring (10.8 runs per game).
Zach HoffmannSenior Reese Gregory leads the Huskies with 12 home runs and ranks second in NCAA DII baseball this spring with a slugging percentage of .930.
Senior Brandon Arnold ranks second in the nation among DII players with an average of 1.58 runs per game.
SCSU has outscored its opponents 347-139 this spring and has outhit them 443-237.
The Huskies have already hit 60 homers this season and only need two more to tie their current team record of 62 homers hits in 2015.
Karl Sorensen batted .500 during six games played last week for the Huskies.  He charted 12 hits, nine RBIs, two doubles, one triple, five runs and two homers over the week.  He posted three hits, one double and one triple in 7-5 loss to CSP on April 13.  He also had four runs, two homers and four RBIs in  18-14 win vs. Augustana on April 16. Sorensen also tallied 13 putouts on defense over the week.
In the current NSIC league standings, the Huskies sit in third place with a 13-4 record, UMD is in second with a 14-4 record and Augustana is in first at 13-3. Â The Huskies have 14 games remaining on their NSIC schedule and this slate includes games scheduled against Mary (6-24, 4-13 NSIC), Bemidji State (9-27, 6-14 NSIC), Northern State (11-14, 4-8 NSIC), Minnesota Duluth (21-9, 14-4 NSIC) and Minot State (4-21, 1-10 NSIC). Â SCSU's games against Northern State (April 30 and May 1) and Minnesota Duluth on May 4 will be played at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, MInn.
Brandon Arnold brings a 10-game hitting streak into this week's action at Mary. Â Reese Gregory saw his 12-game hitting streak snapped in game one on April 17 against Augustana.
Karl Sorensen leads SCSU with 56 hits, 48 RBIs, 4 triples (tied with Judd Davis) and 99 total bases. Â He is second on the team with 8 homer runs.
SCSU owns a 3.81 team ERA, while its opponents have a 11.37 ERA in games played against the Huskies.
Former Husky Jordan Smith was assigned to Class AAA Columbus on April 18.  A part of the Cleveland organization, Smith opened the 2016 season with the Akron Rubber Ducks (AA) before making the move up to Class AAA in Columbus.
