SCSU Passing Out Stickers to Honor Jacob Wetterling
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University football team (1-1) returns home to Husky Stadium to host No. 19/21 Minnesota State (1-1) for the Celebrate!/Alumni/Family Game on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m.

Additionally all fans are encouraged to wear RED to the game to support the Huskies for a RED OUT. Tailgating will begin at 12 p.m. and the first 500 fans will be given a Huskies Tumbler courtesy of Franklin Graphics and Franklin Outdoor Advertising. The athletic department through an initiative by the St. Cloud State Student-Athlete Advisory Council is also selling "Beat Kato" shirts for $10 with all proceeds benefiting the Make-a-Wish-Foundation.
St. Cloud State will also be honoring the life of Jacob Wetterling by handing out stickers showing Jacob's No. 11 at Celebrate events throughout the weekend including the football game. All attendees will be invited to sign a commitment to live by the 11 traits of Jacob's Hope (Be Gentle With Others, Be Positive, Be Fair, Be Kind, Be Understanding, Be Honest, Be Thankful, Be a Good Sport, Be a Good Friend, Be Joyful, Be Generous). The SCSU mascot, Blizzard, will wear a No. 11 jersey for Jacob. Jacob Wetterling was abducted near his home in St. Joseph in Oct. 1989. After almost 27 years, authorities received a confession and closed the case last week. The Wetterling Family and the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center are encouraging people who want to honor Jacob to wear the number 11, Jacob's number in multiple sports.

SCSU and Minnesota State will also be playing for the "Travelling Training Kit" – one of the most bizarre college football rivalry trophies. The trophy features the MSU logo on a purple background on one side and the St. Cloud State logo on a red background on the other side. The winner of each game takes home the coveted kit. Since the teams started playing for the kit in 1978, SCSU is 24-12.

The game is the second time in three weeks that SCSU's football team is playing against a ranked opponent following the program opening the season against then No. 20/21 Sioux Falls.

Scouting Minnesota State
- The Mavericks are off to a 1-1 start to the 2016 season after falling by a 45-17 score at home to Bemidji State last weekend.
- The Beavers were able to rack up 563 yards of total offense, compared to 352 yards put up by Minnesota State.
- MSU's Ryan Schlichte completed 11 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown against BSU.
- Nick Pieruccini amassed 53 yards on 11 carries with Ty Dennis catching four passes for 42 yards.
- Pieruccini leads the squad with 139 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
- Virgil Hammonds has accounted for 127 yards and a touchdown on the ground this season.
- Schlichte is 13-for-26 for 162 yards plus two touchdowns, while Ricky Lloyd is 15-for-34 for 234 yards.
- Dennis is the club leader with his seven catches for 112 yards.
- Marcus Golden leads the team with his 22 tackles.
- Ruben Ibarra has 21 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.
- Michael Palme has 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
- This is the 80th game in the all-time series between the schools with SCSU holding a 42-33-4 edge.
- The series dates back to 1923 with the Huskies winning the first game 37-0
- The last meeting between SCSU and MSU was in Mankato during the 2014 season (9/4/14) and saw Minnesota State come away with the 31-0 victory to open that season.
- The Mavericks were also able to win, 25-21, the last time these two teams met in St. Cloud during the 2012 season (9/15/12).
- SCSU last home win, 31-13, against MSU was during the 2011 campaign (10/8/11).
- The Huskies last win overall against Minnesota State was a memorable 54-48 victory in the NCAA Division II Playoffs in Mankato during the 2013 season (11/30/13).
- The Huskies are 10-8 against NSIC South schools since the end of the 2014 season.

- The Scott Underwood Show is held at 7 p.m. weekly regularly on Mondays during the football season at the Green Mill Restaurant in downtown St. Cloud.  Fans are invited to come out and listen to the show live at the Green Mill and enjoy some great menu discounts available during the show on Monday.  The show is hosted by the voice of the Huskies, J.W. Cox and airs on AM 1390 The Fan from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. The show will be held on Tuesday onOct. 3.

- The Huskies earned their first win of the season, 27-20, over Upper Iowa last weekend (9/10).
- John Pass caught career-highs of nine passes for 138 yards plus the eventual game-winning touchdown.
- The Pass touchdown reception was his second of the season and fifth of his career.
- The program is 4-1 when Pass catches a touchdown.
- Jameson Parsons hauled in a career-high 10 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns.
- Parsons' 10 catches in the game rank in a tie for eighth-most in school history.
- Nate Meyer completed 28-of-41 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns.
- Meyer's three touchdown passing game was his first of the season and the 15th time in his career that he has had a multiple passing game.
- His 303 yards passing was the 34th 300-yard passing game recorded in school history and the sixth time that Meyer personally has eclipsed the mark.
- Meyer's 28 completed passes tie him for the 10th most in a single game in school history.
- Collin Radowicz, a true freshman running back, scored the first touchdown of his career on a four-yard dash.
- Carvel Graham recorded a pair of interceptions against the Peacocks.
- Stuart Hamann led the team with his nine tackles and also had an interception.
- The SCSU defense forced five turnovers in the game against UIU.
- The five turnovers forced were the most for the program since the 2013 season when SCSU forced six turnovers (five interceptions and a fumble) against Northern State.
- The Huskies rank among the top-five teams in the NSIC in completion percentage (5th – 62.9), fewest penalties (3rd – 9), fewest penalties per game (2nd – 4.50), fumbles recovered (1st – 3), kickoff return defense (3rd – 16.0), net punting (5th – 37.41), passes intercepted (1st – 4), punt return defense (4th – 2.50), time of possession (1st – 36:57), turnover margin (2nd – 1.50) and turnovers gained (1st – 7).
- Parsons is second in the league receiving yards (278.0) and receptions per game (9.0), fourth in receiving yards per game (139.0) and ninth in all-purpose yards (142.0).
- He is also ranked seventh nationally in receiving yards and 11th in receptions and receiving yards per game.
- Parsons and Pass are both tied for fifth in the NSIC in receiving touchdowns.
- Pass is also eighth in receiving yards (185) and 10th in receiving yards per game (92.5) plus receptions per game (6.5).
- Meyer is fourth in the NSIC in completion percentage (64.2), fifth in completion per game (21.50), passing yards (557) and passing touchdowns (4).
- Jeremy Koffi, Craig Szymanski and Brady Westart are all tied for the league lead in fumble recoveries (1).
- Graham is first in the conference and 10th in the country in interceptions (2).
- The Huskies are back on the road next week and travel to Wayne, Nebraska to take on Wayne State College at Memorial Stadium / Bob Cunningham Field on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m.
