St. Cloud State volleyball returns to action this weekend, Sept. 9-10, traveling to Kenosha, Wisc. to compete in the UW-Parkside Tournament.
Â
The Huskies (1-3 overall) open tournament play Sept. 9 with a 12 p.m. match against Northern Michigan (3-2 overall). The two faced each other at last year's Upper Iowa tournament, with Northern Michigan besting the Huskies 3-1. St. Cloud then plays Lake Superior State (1-3 overall) in the 4:30 p.m. match.
Â
The Huskies return to the court Sept. 10 to face Michigan Tech (1-3 overall) in the 11:30 a.m. match. St. Cloud played Michigan Tech at the 2015 Upper Iowa tournament as well losing the match 3-1. The Huskies will conclude their play against host school UW-Parkside (1-3 overall) at 4 p.m. Links to live stats and live streams for all games will be available here.Â
Coach Braegelmann is excited for his team to get back into action after a hard week of practice. "We passed really well in Colorado, but we've been working a lot on serving more aggressive in practice to get teams out of system," he said. "Offensively we need to be a little more consistent and a little more balanced between our pin hitters and our middles." Many St. Cloud State players are from Wisconsin, and excited to play in their home state which Coach Braegelmann anticipates will mean "large crowds cheering on St. Cloud State."Â
Huskies will open NSIC play on Sept. 15 when they travel to Bemidji to play Bemidji State (2-2 overall) at 7 p.m. St. Cloud State won the only meeting between the teams last season, defeating the Beavers 3-1.
Â
The Huskies' home opener is on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall as they host University of Minnesota-Crookston. Tickets are available for the match online at scsuhuskies.com and at the gate. Don't forget, students get in FREE by just showing their student ID.
