3/27/2017 2:52:00 PM | Baseball
St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State University baseball team have a busy weekend of baseball ahead of them, completing both a road series and a home series in a span of three days.
Â
The Huskies (14-6, 5-3 NSIC) will first travel to Aberdeen, S.D. to take on the Wolves of Northern State University (8-8, 1-3 NSIC) on March 29 for a double header. The games will be at 1:30 and 3:30, conditions permitting.
Â
The games will mark the second and third times the two teams have faced off this season after they faced off in the Tuscon Tournament in Tuscon, Ariz. earlier this month. The Wolves got the better of the Huskies winning 3-2. The Huskies staged a late game comeback in the seventh inning after being down 3-0 most of the game. The Huskies ran in Mathew Meyer and Jackson Goplen, but were unable to complete the comeback. Last season, the Huskies and Wolves faced off six times, with the Huskies holding the season edge, 4-2-0.
Â
The games will be held at Fossum Field in Aberdeen and fans can keep up with all the action through live stats here, or take in every inning by watching here.
Â
The Huskies will then return to St. Cloud to play host for the first time this season on April 1-2 to the Upper Iowa Peacocks (8-8, 4-4 NSIC) for four games of NSIC action to open action at Joe Faber Field. Â
Â
The games will mark the first meeting for the two teams this season. The Huskies and Peacocks faced off four times last season with the Huskies winning three of the four games, all by at least a three-run margin. The Huskies 19-0 win over the Peacocks last season was the second largest margin of win for St. Cloud State last season, only bested by a 21-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State.
Â
Both days will include double headers with games starting at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
