ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud State baseball team (34-12, 25-9 NSIC) will close out their regular season NSIC schedule this week with a pair of games against Bemidji State (17-19, 14-20 NSIC) on May 4 and May 6. The teams will play two days of doubleheaders, in a home and home series, with the game on May 4 being held at Joe Faber Field. The second twin bill is slated for May 6 at BSU Baseball Field in Bemidji.Â
This week's action marks the first games between the two teams this season. In the 2016 season, the teams only met once for a pair of games, with the Huskies sweeping the series by scores of 4-2 and 11-2. The Huskies and Beavers have been rivals on the diamond since 1933, with the Huskies leading the all time record 125-39. The Huskies have not suffered a loss to Bemidji since April 26, 2014 when they suffered a close 3-2 loss to the Beavers.Â
First pitch is slated to cross home plate at 4 p.m. for the doubleheader at Joe Faber Field.Â
The May 4th game will also mark Senior Night for the Huskies. A special recognition of the seniors and their contribution to the Huskies team will be held. The seniors on the team are David Kroger, Luke Hansen, Logan Swann, Miles Nablo, Zach Metzger, and Austin Caspersen. Tickets can be purchased at the door and fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on the Huskies in their final home game of the regular season.Â
The games on May 6th will begin at 4 p.m. as well from BSU Baseball Field. Fans can follow along by watching here or with live stats here.Â
