Here are the five things to know before the battle of the dogs:
3 – St. Cloud State teams will play Minnesota-Duluth a grand total of three times this week. The soccer team kicked things off on Sunday with its thrilling 2-1 overtime win over the Bulldogs thanks to two clutch goals from Hannah Marion (Inver Grove Heights, Minn. / South St. Paul). Volleyball will be the second team to play Minnesota-Duluth this week, and football will close it out on Thursday at 6 p.m. when it hosts the Bulldogs in the Battle of the Bone.
4/11 – The match between the Huskies and UMD will feature two of the top setters in the conference in Emily and Maddy Torve (Loretto, Minn. / Heritage Christian Academy). Yes, the two are sisters, no they are not twins, and yes, they both rank in the top-15 in the conference in multiple categories. Currently, Maddy Torve ranks 11th in the NSIC in assists/set (9.38) and total assists (272) despite playing two less matches than every other setter in the conference.
