#11 St. Cloud State Takes Down Southwest Minnesota State and Minot State, Improves to 11-1

TUCSON, Ariz. - The #11 St. Cloud State baseball team (11-1, 0-0 NSIC) recorded victories over Southwest Minnesota State and Minot State to extend their winning streak to six. SCSU defeated SMSU 12-2 (8 Innings) in their first game, then took down Minot State 4-1 in the night cap.

Game 1: #11 SCSU 12 | SMSU 2
Matt Osterberg was the pitcher of record in game one for SCSU, striking out eight over five innings of work and only allowing one run. Zach Siggelkow closed the game with three innings of relief, striking out two and walking none.
Lenny Walker gave SCSU an early 1-0 lead after singling home Najee Gaskins in the first inning, before Mat Meyer sent a solo shot to right field that put the Huskies up 2-0 in the third. St. Cloud State broke it open with a four-run fourth inning, taking a 6-0 lead. A three-run sixth inning and two-run eighth inning would give the Huskies a 12-2 lead.
Dylan Haskamp finished with three RBI's while Toran Shahidi and Mat Meyer each recorded two.

Game 2: #11 SCSU 4 | Minot 1
Sheldon Miks tied a career high of 12 K's in his six innings of work, improving to 3-0 on the season. Behind Miks' start, the Huskies were able to jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first and did not look back. St. Cloud State would build on their lead in the fourth and fifth, pushing one across in back-to-back innings then holding a 4-0 lead until the sixth. Minot was able to scratch across one, but would not threaten the rest of the ball game.
Shannon Ahern provided three scoreless innings in relief, notching his first save of the season and sealing SCSU's 11th win of the season.

St. Cloud State returns to action at 6:00 PM MST against Morningside College (IA) in Tucson, AZ.
