Saturday's wins marked the 12th consecutive 30+ win season for Huskies Baseball

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The #5 St. Cloud State baseball team (31-7, 19-5 NSIC) bounced back for a series win and two NSIC victories over the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles on Saturday, April 20. SCSU defeated Minnesota Crookston 9-0 in game two, then defeated UMC 12-2 in eight innings in the series finale.

The Huskies received two stellar starts from Blake Flint and Sheldon Miks to bounce back from Friday afternoon's loss against the Golden Eagles. Flint tossed five scoreless innings, striking out nine and only allowing one hit. Miks struck out eight over six frames and only allowed two runs on five hits in the series finale.

GAME TWO, #5 SCSU 9 | UMC 0
Blake Flint retired the first ten batters he saw in game, including seven strikeouts. The Huskies' offense did not disappoint either, posting a four spot in the first frame courtesy of RBI's from Mathew Meyer, Matt Quade and Jordan Joseph. Then, the game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Mallek recorded his ninth homer of the season to put SCSU up 5-0. After a pair of Crookston errors and a base knock from Joseph, Toran Shahidi cleared the bases with his second triple of the season to put the Huskies up 8-0. Jordan Joseph's third hit of the game was a double that scored Harris to post SCSU's ninth and final run of the ball game.
Dylan Haskamp and Zach Walz each provided an inning in relief to slam the door and even the series 1-1.

GAME THREE, #5 SCSU 12 | UMC 2
Following another explosive day at the plate from the Huskies' offense, SCSU was able to take the series finale in eight innings by a ten run margin. SCSU put up five runs within the first four innings before posting a six spot in the sixth inning to answer back from UMC's two-run fourth inning. Najee Gaskins and Jordan Joseph each picked up three hits while Gaskins recorded his fourth homer of the season in the first inning.

St. Cloud State will host Minot State on Wednesday, April 24 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Joe Faber Field. Wednesday's twinbill is the beginning of a seven game homestand.
