Send off for men’s hockey scheduled for April 5

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University athletics department invites fans to send off the St. Cloud State University men's hockey team prior to the trip to the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Huskies Hockey Send Off will take place on April 5 prior to the team's trip to the Frozen Four. The event will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. and will feature speeches from St. Cloud mayor Dave Kleis, St. Cloud State athletics director Heather Weems, University President Robbyn Wacker and head coach Brett Larson. The event will end at 11 a.m. when the team will be escorted to the St. Cloud Airport by the local police and fire departments.
The first 100 fans to arrive at Herb Brooks Way and the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center will receive an official St. Cloud State Frozen Four t-shirt and poster. Throughout the week, fans are encouraged to send in photos wearing cardinal and black, St. Cloud State colors, to be potentially posted on the University and team's social media accounts leading up to Thursday's game. Additionally, St. Cloud State and Campus Involvement will host an SCSU Student Watch Party on Thursday, April 8, right when the Huskies will be taking on the Mavericks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, at the Atwood Ballroom on St. Cloud State's campus in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Food and beverage specials will be available and there will be Huskies hockey giveaways throughout the game.
Students wishing to attend are recommended to visit Huskies Connect to RSVP for the event, as space will be limited to comply with the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 protocols. All students who attend will be required to follow Minensota Department of Health guidelines, including wearing a mask and socially distancing from other attendees.
