Women's soccer falls to Northern Michigan

The Huskies tally six shots, including five on goal, in the 3-0 loss
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer fell in its season opener to the Northern Michigan University Wildcats by a final score of 3-0. The Huskies tallied six total shots, five on goal, in the effort, while redshirt first year Evie Kohn (West Lakeland, Minn. / Stillwater Area) make six saves in her collegiate debut.
TURNING POINT
St. Cloud State was unable to overcome two first half goals by the Wildcats, as the Huskies were unable to capitalize on their offensive opportunities. Northern Michigan scored its first goal just three minutes into the game, as Brooke Pietila beat Kohn to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at 3:44 in the half. The Wildcats then added another goal at 36:44 in the first to make it 2-0 before a goal in the waning seconds of the game resulted in the 3-0 final score.
