SCSU is one of 10 teams under consideration for the NCAA Central Region
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer is included in the first set of the NCAA Women's Soccer Regional Rankings, as announced on Wednesday. The Huskies were one of five NSIC teams ranked, joining Augustana, Bemidji State, Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State in the first of three regional rankings. The first set of rankings are listed alphabetically.
SCSU is tracking towards their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth after reaching the national tournament for the first two times in each of the last two seasons. This season, SCSU has already produced program records for its best start in program history with a nine-game unbeaten streak and tied the record for most shutouts at nine. SCSU will host Wayne State and Augustana for its final two home games this weekend at CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex in St. Joseph, Minn.
The NSIC, the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Great American Conference (GAC) make up the 36-team NCAA Central Region. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament. The two top-seeded teams in each region shall be offered the opportunity to host, provided minimum site selection criteria are met and a bid has been submitted. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
The NCAA Women's Soccer selection show will be streamed online on Monday, Nov. 17 at NCAA.com at 5:30 p.m. (CT).
