St. Cloud State Women’s Swimming and Diving to Travel to Fargo for Dragon Invite

The Huskies set to compete in Fargo, ND against multiple NSIC teams

FARGO, ND. – The St. Cloud State Women's Swimming and Diving team return to action for the first time since December on Saturday, Jan. 13 as the team will travel to compete at the Dragon Invite. The Huskies will be one of six NSIC teams competing including, UMary, Sioux Falls, Northern State, Concordia St. Paul, and Minnesota State Moorhead. Concordia College will also be competing alongside these six NSIC teams. The invite is two sessions, with the morning session beginning at 10 a.m. CT and the afternoon session starting at 5:00 p.m. CT.

The Huskies last competed at the Rochester Invite, Dec. 2-4 in Rochester, Minn., where they finished first. Over the weekend, the team posted top times for the season and earned multiple NCAA cuts. Junior Kendall Gonzalez earned a win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.94. Junior Meredith Bangs picked up wins in the 400-yard IM (4:34.26) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.11). Sophomore Natalie Gniser got the win in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:09.42. The team impressed at the Rochester Invite and is looking to continue their success this weekend.
