Mika Folstad Named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Bay City, Mich.- St. Cloud State fifth year midfielder Mika Folstad was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. This is the first honor of Folstad's career.

Folstad was a crucial part of the offense in the Huskies 1-0-1 weekend. After trailing 2-0 at halftime against Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday, Folstad helped spark the comeback for St. Cloud State by scoring a goal in the 52^nd minute. The Huskies would ultimately tie 2-2 against the Rangers as Folstad recorded a goal and two shots on goal. Sunday's game against Purdue Northwest was tightly contested with the teams tied 1-1 late into the game. The Huskies created a break opportunity in the 78^th as Folstad dished out the game-winning assist to Philip Caputo who would ultimately give St. Cloud State the 2-1 victory. For the week, Folstad finished second in the conference with three points and was one of two players to tally a goal and an assist.
