
No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth Records Shutout, Takes Down No. 10 St. Cloud State

DULUTH, Minn. — The St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Team (15-15-1, 10-14-1 WCHA) gets shut down by the University of Minnesota-Duluth (18-11-2, 15-10-0 WCHA) by a score of 1-0 on Friday afternoon.
FIRST PERIOD
Period number one was relatively even, with St. Cloud State tallying nine shots on goal and Minnesota-Duluth tallying eight. Both teams would get one power play opportunity in the first with Taylor Lind (Shaunavon, Saskatchewan) getting called for tripping and Mannon McMahon getting called for hooking.
SECOND PERIOD
The Huskies outshot the Bulldogs 21 to 15 in the second period. The Huskies would get two power play opportunities in the middle frame, putting up two shots on goal. The Bulldogs would go on one power play as Dayle Ross (Spirit River, Alberta) would get called for interference.
THIRD PERIOD
For the third time in game one, the Huskies would out shoot the Bulldogs. In the final frame, St. Cloud State nine shots on goal while Minnesota-Duluth to six shots on goal in the final 20 minutes. Early in the final frame, the Bulldogs would find the back of the net as Clara Van Wieren beat Jojo Chobak (Chicago, Ill.) at the 4:33 mark. With the Bulldogs scoring the lone goal, Duluth would take down the Huskies by a score of 1-0 and clinch home ice for the first round of the WCHA playoffs in two weeks.

- CC Bowlby (Edina, Minn.) led the team with seven shots on goal
- Dayle Ross blocked a team-leading two shots
- Jojo Chobak made 27 saves on 28 shots
