The Huskies dropped the first game 5-0 before coming back and winning 5-4 in the night cap to earn the series victory with three out of four wins.

The Huskies wasted no time getting to work in the second game of the day, beginning with a leadoff home run from redshirt junior Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie, Wis.), his second long ball of the season. SMSU tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the second, but then SCSU regained the lead for good in the fourth inning on a two-run home run from Castro. A two-run single from junior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba) in the fifth inning gave the Huskies insurance runs and made the score 5-2.
SMSU scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings to cut the lead down to 5-4, but redshirt senior Frankie Volkers (Maple Grove, Minn.) came on in relief with one out in the eighth and slammed the door on any potential comeback. Volkers entered the game with runners on first and third and proceeded to work out of the jam with two strikeouts and then followed that up with striking out the side in the ninth to earn the save and victory of the Huskies.
