Mira Jalosuo Introductory Press Conference Set for July 22

Former assistant coach will be formally introduced as the seventh head coach of SCSU Women’s Hockey on July 22 at noon in the Husky Den
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – After being announced as the seventh head coach of the St. Cloud State Women's Hockey program on June 27, former assistant coach, Mira Jalosuo (MEER-ah yel-LOW-sue-OH) will be formally introduced on Tuesday, July 22 at noon in the Husky Den inside the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
Media members, along with campus and community members, are invited to attend. In additional to Jalosuo, the event will feature remarks from Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner. For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed lived on the St. Cloud State Athletics YouTube page.
The Lieksa, Finland native and two-time Olympian returns to St. Cloud after helping the Minnesota Frost (formerly PWHL Minnesota) win back-to-back PWHL Walter Cups in each of the first two seasons of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Prior to becoming a coach for the Frost, Jalosuo spent a year as an assistant coach for the Huskies under former head coach Brian Idalski, during his first season in 2022-23. She primarily worked with the defenders, helping recreate St. Cloud State as one of the best defensive teams in the country while directing the penalty kill and assisting with recruiting efforts.
