Castro launches second home run of the season in defeat
JOPLIN, Mo. – St. Cloud State Baseball (3-4, 2-1 NSIC) dropped a nonconference game to Wayne State (6-5, 1-2 NSIC), 13-4, on Sunday afternoon at Warren Turner Field in Joplin, Mo. The Huskies won two out of three conference games before dropping the series finale and splitting the four-game set with the Wildcats.
SCSU stayed close to Wayne State with the score 4-2 heading into the seventh inning before the Huskies surrendered four runs in the seventh inning and five in the eight to open up the game.
Supplying the offense for the Huskies was junior Wilmis Castro (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) with a two-run home run in the fourth inning and RBI singles from senior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba) and freshman Ryan Cahoon (Northfield, Minn.) in the seventh inning.

SCSU will next play a four-game series (three conference games) with Northern State next weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The series will be played on Thursday, Feb. 26 (5:00 p.m. CT start) and Saturday, Feb. 28 (6:35 p.m. CT start).
