Huskies eye a return to the GLIAC Tournament
Bay City, Mich.- St. Cloud Men's Soccer was picked to finish seventh out of seven teams in the annual Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. SCSU is coming off a 4-12-1 record with a 2-10 conference record to finish seventh in the GLIAC a year ago.

St. Cloud State will return many key pieces from last season's squad including Andrew Holmes, Andrés García, Diego Ramos, and Ryder Delport. Holmes is coming off a very strong season where he earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention for the second consecutive season playing in 16 games with 15 starts logging 1306 total minutes on the pitch, tallying four points from a goal and two assists. The team captain is currently ninth all-time in points (11), tied for third in assists (seven), fourth in career minutes (4014), second in 90-minute games (29), and ninth in games played (49). Garcia returned back to action after prevailing injuries the past few seasons to play in 16 games with 15 starts as a prominent striker. Garcia led the Huskies in points last season with 11, the sixth most in a single season by a Husky. He also led the squad in goals with five, good for a tie for fourth in a single season in program history. Two seasons removed from his ICCAC All-Region First Team selection in 2024, Ryder Delport is St Cloud State's top returning backline defender. The Englishman played over 90 minutes in nine of the seventeen games he played last season. Delport played 1453 minutes in 2025, fifth most in a single season in program history.
St Cloud State welcomes a large incoming class of student athletes, with 17 newcomers lacing it up for the Huskies. Playing their first season of collegiate soccer are Freshman Albin Thompson (Mesa, AZ), Marlon Seahorn Jr. (Bloomington, MN), Arjan Ahuja (Montreal, Canada), Levi Musokwa (Andover, MN), Christian Rogers (Brisbane, Australia), Gavin Gaetz (St. Cloud, MN), and Victory Ademodi (Brooklyn Park, MN). Huskies excitingly welcome incoming transfers Santiago Martin (Iowa Lakes CC), Armaan Sekhon (Casper College), Kingsley Kanu (Olivet Nazarene University), Jovan Koceski (Iowa Lakes CC), Johan Lopez (Madison College), Pablo Matos (Dakota County TC), Paul Adukor (Doane), Charlie Ames (Elgin CC), Erik Willke (Qunnipiac), and Matteo Mangili (St Cloud TC).
While the Huskies offer a lot of new and returning talent, they graduated many key players including All-GLIAC Honorable Mention William Gonzalez, Yuken Harmon, Rhys Ward, Matt Greenland, 2023 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Owen Worsdell, and multi-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week Ramy Atia. Atia was the primary Goalkeeper in his two seasons with the Huskies, leaving room for competition between the Huskie's four Goalkeepers currently on the squad.
Leading the Huskies for his seventh season will be Sean Holmes, two years removed from his GLIAC Coach of the Year nomination. Holmes eyes a return to the GLIAC Playoffs and has expectations for his team to score more goals in 2026.
