2012 TEAM CAPTAIN- Named a 2012 Harlon Hill Semifinalist (award given to the top Division II football player) and was St. Cloud State's Offensive Player of the Year. During the seaon, he completed 178 of 303 pass attempts for 2,760 yards and 28 touchdowns. His pass efficiency rating is 161.80 and he completed 58.7 percent of his pass attempts, averaging 250.9 yards per game in the air. Klaphake was the second leading rusher on the team. In 11 games, he gained 607 yards on 141 attempts and scored 9 touchdowns.... was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and D2Football.com Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after leading the Huskies to a 51-49 come from behind upset of then #2 ranked Minn. Duluth. Klaphake threw 5 TD passes and rushed for a sixth... he set a single game school record for passing yards with 466 yards. Klaphake was Academic All-State, a member of the 2012 Don Hansen All-American Team, Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 Team, and a NSIC All-Conference North Division Offensive First Team member. He was voted a NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year.
2011 Season: Team captain...Academic All-NSIC....First Team All-NSIC North quarterback...NSIC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6...became the first Husky quarterback to pass for over 4,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 yards in a career...threw for a career high 342 yards against Minnesota, Crookston on Oct. 22 completing 14 of 21 passes and connecting on an 82-yard TD strike...had 4,953 career passing yards which ranks fourth on the all-time chart...rushed for a season high 83 yards against Bemidji State in the game he went over the 1,000 career rushing mark...played in ten games, completed 150 of 263 passes for 2,035 yards and 11 touchdowns...rushed for 411 yards on 99 carries and scored seven touchdowns...threw for over 200 yards five times during the season...completed a season high 22 passes against Wayne State University in a snowy NCAA playoff game at Husky Stadium.
2010 Season: Named the 2010 NSIC Offensive Newcomer of the Year and was an All-NSIC North Second Team player. He led the Huskies to a 10-3 overall record and to the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs. He completed 210 passes for 2,918 yards and 24 touchdowns and led the team in rushing with 155 carries for 798 yards and 11 touchdowns. He threw for a season high 335 yards and tied his personal record of four touchdown passes in the win over MSU Moorhead on Nov. 6, a performance that helped establish a season record for total offense by an individual as he rushed and passed for a school record 3,716 yards breaking the old mark of 3,189 yards set during the 2003 season. He is the first Husky since the 2004 season to go over 2,000 yards passing in a single season and the seventh Husky QB in school history to reach the mark in a single season. Klaphake started all 13 games in 2010. Three times he threw four TD passes in a game (one short of the single game school record). In his collegiate debut on Sept. 4 at Augustana College he threw for 319 yards and the following week 301 to become the first Husky to throw back to back games of 300 yards since Keith Heckendorf during the 2003 season. He is the first Husky QB since Mike Hammerseng ( 302 yards Nov. 11, 2006 at Minnesota Duluth) to throw for over 300 yards in a game. Klaphake will be a team captain in 2011.
