Women's Basketball Tops Minnesota Crookston 67-62

Crookston, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team traveled to Crookston, Minn. to take on the Golden Eagles this evening. The Huskies defeated the Golden Eagles with a final score of 67-62.
St. Cloud State improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the NSIC. Minnesota Crookston falls to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Huskies led the Golden Eagles 34-31 at the half. St. Cloud State forced 17 turnovers on Minnesota Crookston. The Huskies committed just 13 turnovers on the night and shot 38.9% from the field and 66.7% from the line.
Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) led the Huskies in scoring with 17 points. Petermann shot six of eight from the field and was perfect from behind the arc making two of two.
Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, Wis.) helped lead the Huskies to a victory this evening recording a double-double. LeCaptain finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) finished with eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Alexa Thielman led all players scoring 18 points for the Golden Eagles.
St. Cloud State returns to action next weekend as they host Minnesota State University, Moorhead and Northern State on Dec. 12 and 13.
