SCSU Volleyball Defeats Southwest Baptist and Minnesota-Crookston

Aberdeen, SD- The St. Cloud State volleyball team competed against Southwest Baptist and Minnesota-Crookston today at the NSU Dacotah Bank Volleyball Classic. The Huskies came away with two victories, defeating Southwest Baptist 3-1 with scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-19. SCSU then took down the University of Minnesota-Crookston in three sets, winning 25-16, 25-19 and 25-22.

St. Cloud State improves to 6-2 on the year. They will be in action again on Tuesday, Sept. 16 as they host the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

Southwest Baptist Recap:

Kellan Flynn (Tomahawk, Wis.) notched 15 kills, hitting .609%

Shannon Klink (Hartford, Wis.) and Kaitlin Doughty (Tomahawk, Wis.) each added 11 kills. Klink also added 12 digs.

Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) tallied 31 digs while Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley, Minn.) finished with 44 assists.

Minnesota-Crookston Recap:

Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley, Minn.) posted 39 assists.

Kaitlin Doughty (Tomahawk, Wis.) had a team-high of 12 kills while Shannon Klink (Hartford, Wis.) and Macy Weller (Sauk Centre, Minn) both recorded 10 kills.

Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) tallied 25 digs.
