Also in the loss, the Huskies also turned the ball over five times and had an extra point blocked, after the earlier attempt had been made and called back because of a penalty. The SCSU team also owned a 28-18 advantage in first downs and a 573 to 474 advantage in yards gained. St. Cloud State, who came into the game ranked fifth nationally in third-down conversions at 54 percent, were limited to only 3-of-10 on third down in the contest.

SCSU junior quarterback Nate Meyer completed 24-of-36 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns in the loss. Junior receiver Jameson Parsons hauled in nine passes for 157 yards. Sophomore receiver Kasai Farris picked up a pair of receiving touchdowns among his four catches for 65 yards. Senior tight end Grant Thayer had 102 receiving yards and a touchdown on his five catches.
The game was tied at 21 all at the half before Bemidji State broke through for the first score to start the second half. Tahi Nomane rumbled in from five-yards out to finish off an eight play, 66-yard drive to put the Beavers up 28-21 after the made extra point from Isaac Aanerud with 5:44 remaining in the third quarter.
The Huskies answered quickly and marched down the field on an eight play, 61-yard drive to score on Thayer's one-handed 18-yard reception in the end zone. The extra point to tie the game up 28 all was originally knocked through the uprights, but was called back as a personal foul penalty was called on SCSU. On the now longer try the ball was blocked allowing the Beavers to maintain a 28-27.
The SCSU held the BSU offense scoreless for the rest of the second half and had forced a punt with just over two minutes remaining in the game. The ensuing kick was muffed on the attempted return though and allowed the Beavers to take the ball back and kneel the rest of the game out.
It was an exciting game through out with BSU jumping out to a 14-0 advantage on a 54-yard touchdown run from Jordan Hein on third down on the team's opening drive of the game and a five-yard Hein touchdown pass to Juwaan Richard on the team's next possession. Hein had an impressive the afternoon with 15 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown. He also completed 18-of-30 passes for 252 yards and two more scores.
The Huskies cut the intitial 14-point deficit in half on redshirt freshman Curtwan Evans's 29-yard touchdown run to complete a five-play, 75-yard drive at the 4:49 mark of the first quarter.
The Beavers would answer though and increased the margin to 14 again on Brady Schmidt's 32-yard touchdown reception from Hein at the 8:17 mark of the second quarter.
SCSU again cut the margin to 14 points on Farris' first touchdown reception of the game with 4:49 remaining in the second quarter.
Farris and the SCSU would strike again with just seconds (:08) remaining in the first half on a three-yard reception to tie the game at 21 all going into the break. His catch capped off a 9 play, 65-yard drive.

The SCSU football team returns home to host MSU Moorhead for a 1 pm. game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Husky Stadium.

- Jameson Parsons' 157 receiving yards was the third time he has top 150 receiving yards this season. Only Fred Williams has reached the mark more in a single season. Parsons has reached 100 yards receiving in five of the team's last six games.

- Senior Ledell White led the team in rushing with 81 yards on the ground against the Beavers. White has been the team's leading rusher in four of the team's eight games.

- Sophomore Jaden Huff ran for 59 yards, but was held out of the end zone for only the second time this season and second time in the last nine games dating back to last season.

- Grant Thayer 102 yards receiving yards was the second time he has topped 100 receiving yards this season (104 yards vs. Minnesota Crookston [10/3/15]) and third time in his career (111 yards vs. MSU Moorhead [11/16/13])

- Kasai Farris' two touchdown receptions were his first two of the season and the second and third TD catches of his career.
