Volleyball Falls in Sioux Falls to #8 Augustana

Sioux Falls, S.D- The St. Cloud State volleyball team fell in straight sets to #8 Augustana on Oct. 21, 25-15, 26-24, 25-13.
The game started tight with the Huskies (8-14, 3-10 NSIC) keeping pace with the Vikings (19-4, 10-3 NSIC) with the match going point for point until Augustana got ahead 10-7, where they started to dominate the match. The Huskies would struggle to add points on the board, and the Vikings took the first set 25-15.
The second set was a different story as the Huskies came out of the break setting the pace, going up on the Vikings 15-13. The teams traded off points before the game was tied up at 21 all. The grind continued until the last point as the teams battled to extra points, but Augustana outlasted the Huskies 26-24.
The third set was dominated by the Vikings, as they quickly went up multiple points on the Huskies, and took the final set and match 25-13.
The Huskies were led on offense by junior Nicole Miller who accounted for nine kills and also dug 10 for the Huskies. Shannon Klink, Macy Weller, and Micah Nier all registered six kills on the night for the Huskies. Marissa Kline dished out 26 assists on the match while adding a block, ace, and eight digs. Clara Krenz held down defense for the Huskies with 14 digs on the match.
The Huskies return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Wayne State College to take on the #9 ranked Wildcats. Fans can watch the match here or follow live stats here.
The Huskies will return to their home court next weekend when they host Southwest Minnesota State Oct. 28 and Sioux Falls Oct. 29.
