Volleyball Set to Host #2 SMSU and Sioux Falls

St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State Volleyball team is set to return home Oct. 28-29 to host NSIC rivals Southwest Minnesota State and the University of Sioux Falls at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies (8-15, 3-11 NSIC) will first play host to the #2 Southwest Minnesota State on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. The Mustangs (19-3, 13-1 NSIC) come into the match-up not suffering a loss since they dropped their Sept. 15 match to Augustana. The last time the two teams met was last season when the Huskies fell to SMSU in straight sets. In that match, Macy Weller contributed 5 kills for the Huskies with Shannon Klink picking up 10 digs.
The following day the Huskies will return to the court to take on the University of Sioux Falls at 4 p.m. The Huskies and the Cougars (14-8, 8-6 NSIC) will face-off for the first time since St. Cloud State edged USF in a thrilling five set match last season.
The Huskies won that match by an 18-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 15-5 score against USF last year. Macy Weller had a standout match for the Huskies as she had 12 kills and 5 blocks for the Huskies. Shannon Klink added 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 18 digs for the team.
The Sioux Fall game will be a special one for the Huskies as it is Alumni Night at Halenbeck Hall. Youth are also encouraged to come to the match in their spookiest costumes as they will be admitted to the game for FREE!
