Softball Falls to Central Missouri, 3-0

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State softball team (7-3) faced Central Missouri (6-7) in the second day of the Kelly Lass Invitational. The Huskies fell to the Jennies by a final score of 3-0.
Junior Rebecca Harps (Yucaipa, Calif.) was perfect at the plate going three-for-three. She accounted for three of the team's six hits in the contest.
Junior Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) led the Huskies with six putouts.
Freshman Kate Kopeck (Lumsden, Sask.) and junior Megan Hedstrom (Palatine, Ill.) pitched two innings for the Huskies. Kopeck struck out one batter, walked one, and gave up four hits. Hedstrom struck out one batter, walked three, and gave up one hit.
Senior Senna Francesconi (Schomberg, Ontario) pitched the remaining three innings for St. Cloud State. Francesconi finished with two stikeouts, one walk, and gave up two hits.
In the first inning, Central Missouri scored on a throwing error. The second run in the inning came from a double to left center allowing Makayla Schoonover to score. The Jennies picked up their final run of the game in the fourth inning on sacrifice bunt.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow morning as they take on Fort Hays State at 9:30 a.m. in the Husky Dome.
