SCSU wraps up Arizona trip with another victory on March 15

The #2 St. Cloud State University baseball team (15-0, 0-0 NSIC) completed its spring break trip to Arizona with an 11-1 victory over Northern State University on Tuesday, March 15. The game was played today in Tucson, Ariz.
Sheldon Miks was the pitcher of record in the contest as he went eight innings to score his fourth win of the season. He allowed just one run, eight hits and had five strikeouts in the game. Logan Spitzack finished the final inning on the mound for the Huskies with one strikeout to his credit.
SCSU allowed one run in the first inning before playing shutout ball the rest of the contest. SCSU scored one run in the third inning to tie the contest and then rallied with four runs in the seventh inning and six runs in the eighth inning to ice the contest. Karl Sorensen had three hits and three RBIs in the game, while Jackson Goplen had two hits and two RBIs in the game.
The Huskies will return north to open the NSIC campaign with games at Wayne State on March 25-26 in Wayne, Neb.
