#1 St. Cloud State baseball to host CSP and Augustana

The #1 St. Cloud State University baseball team (25-1, 10-1 NSIC) will be back home for six games this week at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, Minn. Â The Huskies will open the week with a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader at home on Wednesday, April 13 against NSIC rival Concordia University St. Paul (15-3, 8-1 NSIC). Â The schedule against the top teams in the NSIC will continue on Saturday, April 16 with a 1:30 p.m. doubleheader at Joe Faber Field against Augustana University (19-7, 10-0 NSIC). Â The weekend series against the Vikings will conclude on Sunday, April 17 with a Noon doubleheader at Joe Field Field.
SCSU BASEBALL ALUMNI SOCIAL: Â All SCSU baseball alumni are invited to a postgame social at the Ultimate Sports Bar and Grill in Waite Park following the games on Saturday, April 16 against Augustana.

TEAM RECORD:Â The Huskies currently own a 25-1, 10-1 NSIC record in 2016.
NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Reese Gregory was named the NSIC Player of the Week on April 11.   Gregory batted .579 in five games played for the Huskies over the last week.  He also added 11 hits, 11 RBIs, three doubles and five home runs for the Huskies in 19 at bats.  In SCSU's 5-1 victory over Minnesota State on April 6, Gregory posted two doubles and scored two runs along with making 11 putouts at first base.  On April 9 in SCSU's 19-0 win over Upper Iowa, Gregory charted two homers, two runs and three RBIs.  He also had a double and the Huskies' lone RBI in a 3-1 loss to the Peacocks in game two.  He wrapped up his busy week at the plate on April 10 with one homer, three RBIs and two hits in SCSU's 13-10 win over UIU in game one.  To  end his week, Gregory pounded out two homers, four hits, four RBIs and scored three times in SCSU's 14-4 win over UIU in game two on April 10.  On the season, Gregory leads SCSU with 10 home runs.  He also owns a .432 batting average with 35 hits, nine doubles and 34 RBIs this spring for the 25-1, 10-1 NSIC Huskies.
FIRST IN THE COUNTRY: Â Along with being ranked the number one team in the nation in several NCAA DII polls this season, the Huskies are currently leading the nation in several stat categories among NCAA DII teams. Â SCSU ranks first in the nation with a .397 team batting average, first in the nation with 3.23 doubles per game, first in the nation with 1.85 homers per game, first in the nation with a .467 on base percentage, first in the nation with 11.5 runs scored per game, first in the nation with a .662 slugging percentage and first in the nation with a .962 win-loss percentage. Â Individually, Brandon Arnold leads the nation with an average of 1.64 runs scored per game in 2016.
TOP 10: Â SCSU Huskies ranked among the nation's top 10 DII players for stats are as follows: Â Judd Davis (2nd with a .577 batting average), Karl Sorensen (4th with 1.50 RBIs per game), Reese Gregory (3rd with a .914 slugging percentage), Sheldon Miks (4th with a 0.78 ERA), Sheldon Miks (4th with a 15.67 strikeouts to walk ratio), Sheldon Miks (6th with a 0.78 WHIP), Sheldon Miks (7th with 0.58 Walks Allowed Per Nine Innings). NEW RECORD:Â SCSU set a new single-game team record by pounding out nine homers in the Huskies' 19-0 victory over UIU on April 9 at Joe Faber Field. Â The old record of eight homers in a game was set against Southwest Minnesota State in 1990. Â In the topic of home runs, SCSU charted 16 home runs in the four game set against Upper Iowa. Â Reese Gregory led the way with five home runs in the four games, while Karl Sorensen had three homers last week. Â On the season, SCSU has 48 home runs after 26 games, which averages 1.8 homers per game. Â Last year, SCSU set a team record with 62 home runs in 59 games played (an average of 1.1 homers per game).
