St. Cloud State Volleyball Opens Season at Oredigger Classic

The St. Cloud State University volleyball team opens its 2016 season this weekend, Sept. 2-3, traveling to Golden, Colo. for the Oredigger Volleyball Classic.

The Huskies (9-19, 5-15 NSIC) begin tournament play with an 11 a.m. match against Western State (13-17 in 2015) on Sept. 2. SCSU defeated the Mountaineers in straight sets last season. St. Cloud then plays the tournament host Colorado School of Mines (27-6 in 2015) at 3 p.m. to wrap up the first day of tournament action. Fans can watch the match between St. Cloud State and Colorado School of Mines here and follow the live stats for all the games of the tournament here
The Huskies return to the court Sept. 3 to face Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (31-7 in 2015) at 10 a.m., and conclude their play in the opening weekend against University of Nebraska-Kearney (29-7 in 2015) at 4:30 p.m.

Chad Braegelmann enters his second season as head coach of the program after guiding the team to a four-game improvement in NSIC play in his premiere season. The Huskies return 11 players from last season, including NSIC Player to Watch senior Macy Weller.
SCSU continues tournament play next weekend and travels to Kenosha, Wis. for the UW Parkside Tournament from Sept. 9-10. The team starts off play on the first day against Northern Michigan (21-10 in 2015) at noon and then takes on Lake Superior State (0-25 in 2015) at 4:30 p.m.

The Huskies' home opener is on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall as they host University of Minnesota-Crookston. Tickets are available for the match online at scsutickets.com and at the gate. Don't forget, students get in FREE by just showing their student ID.
