St. Cloud State Volleyball falls to Western State 3-0

Golden, Colo. – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team (0-1 overall) opened its season with a tough 26-28, 27-25, 20-25 loss to Western State Colorado University (1-0 overall) on Friday, Sept. 2, in Golden, Colo. at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic.
Macy Weller led the Huskies in the match with 11 kills, while teammates Micah Nier added seven kills and Taylor Rollo had six kills. Marissa Kline led the team with 24 assists and Clara Krentz had nine digs. Krista Kuglin registered three serving aces, as well as tying Rollo with three blocks.
Western State was lead by the offense of Tori Gaherty who accounted for 14 kills and four service aces. Allison Walker led her team with 37 assists, and Avery Burkholder picked up four blocks.
The Huskies complete their first day of tournament competition playing host school, Colorado School of Mines at 3:30 P.M. MDT. Fans can follow along with live stats here or watch the live stream here.
