ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University football team (5-2, 2-1 NSIC North) is on the road this weekend and travels to Bismarck, N.D. to take on the University of Mary (1-6, 1-2 NSIC North) on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 3:30 p.m. at the MSU Resources Community Bowl

Scouting the University of Mary

The University of Mary had a strong second half offensive showing with 27 points after halftime in defeating Minnesota Crookston last weekend, 30-6.
The Marauders ran for 417 yards and totaled 443 offensive yardage in the victory.
DeShawn Gay ran nine times for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Paul Guptill picked up 84 yards on 13 carries.
Garrett Weissinger ran for 65 yards plus threw a pair of touchdown passes to Luke Little.
Devin Hope ran for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Brock Pittsley and Jackson Grad both had a pair of sacks against the Golden Eagles.
Gay leads the team in rushing on the season with 363 yards plus three touchdowns.
Weissinger has 200 yards rushing plus three ground scores.
He also has three touchdown passes.
Colton Farmer has completed 14 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyson Carney leads the team with his six catches for 114 yards.
Noah Krebs is the club leader with 58 tackles.
Jared Zittleman has 38 tackles, 2.5 stops for loss plus an interception.
Pittsley leads the team and is third in the league with five sacks.
University of Mary is second in the conference and 14th nationally with 235.4 rushing yards per contest.
The Marauders also are second in the conference and sixth nationally in time of possession (34:23).

The Huskies are 11-0 all-time against the University of Mary
SCSU earned a 41-7 home victory over the Marauders last season.
Nate Meyer ran for two touchdowns and also completed 15 passes for 243 yards and three more scores.
Nick Greenlund had six catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Jameson Parsons picked up 102 yards and a touchdown against the University of Mary.
Jack Horter totaled 12 tackles and a half a tackle for loss.
Adam Josephson had seven tackles plus a pair of forced fumbles.
Mitch Knutson totaled seven tackles and 1.5 stops for loss.
The series started during the 2006 season with SCSU winning 27-14
SCSU has scored 30 or more points in seven of the last eight games against the University of Mary including five games with 40 or more points.

Notables

St. Cloud State defeated MSU Moorhead 31-7 at Husky Stadium last weekend with 24 points in the second half.
The Huskies are now 3-1 at home this season and 39-14 at Husky Stadium since the 2008 season.
SCSU has beaten MSUM in 11 straight games and haven't fallen to the Dragons since 1983.
The program is 5-2 overall for the first time since 2013 and the fifth time since 2005.
Gregory Lewis helped lead the team against MSUM with a career-high 128 yards rushing.
Lewis also scored a touchdown for the fourth time in the last five games while averaging 7.1 yards per carry.
He has topped 100 yards on the ground in each of his last two games.
John Pass caught five passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.
That makes it five straight games that Pass has scored a receiving touchdown.
The program is 10-3 all-time when Pass scores a touchdown.
Dwayne Lawhorn threw two touchdown passes and has had multiple passing touchdowns in each of his last three games.
The team's defense was led by Gary Koehring's eight tackles including a pair of stops for loss.
Brady Westart recorded seven tackles plus a pair of sacks.
It was his first multiple sack performance since getting 2.5 against Minot State last season (11/5/16)
Jamari Manuel and Carvel Graham both recorded interceptions.
It was the second straight game with an interception for Graham and his fourth of the season to ranked third in the NSIC.
The SCSU defense recorded five sacks and 10 tackles for loss against MSU.
The last two weeks the program has 11 sacks and 20 tackles for loss.
The program is second in the league in sacks.
The seven points allowed to the Dragons was a season-low for the program and the fourth time the last two years that the program has given up one score or less.
The program comes into the game ranked fourth nationally in time of possession (34:53) and 11th in run defense (82.6 yards per game).

Next Week

St. Cloud State returns home to host Northern State on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
The program fell to NSU last season on the road in Aberdeen, S.D. by a 29-28 score.
Northern State got a field goal at the end of the third quarter to take the lead for good in what had been a back and forth contest.
Jaden Huff ran for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Joe Blando carried nine times for 35 yards and two scores.
Nate Meyer completed 16 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown.
Jameson Parsons hauled in six passes for 63 yards.
Sam Hartman had four catches for 70 yards.
Gary Koehring led the defense with his 12 stops.
Jeremy Koffi recorded a pair of pass breakups.
The program is 14-5 all-time against the Wolves, but have lost the last three games of the series.
