Football Hosts Minnesota Crookston This Weekend

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University football team (3-2, 0-1 NSIC North) returns home to Husky Stadium to host Minnesota Crookston (0-5, 0-1 NSIC North) on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m.
The game is Youth Day where all kids 12 and under can get in for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

- UMC was held to 104 offensive yards in the contest.
- The Golden Eagles offense was led by Rod Stewart's six catches for 58 yards.
- Quarterback Tommy Singer connected on five passes for 56 yards.
- Ali Alkhatib led the defense with his 10 tackles.
- Donovan Baker totaled six tackles and a sack.
- On the season, Kevin Evans leads the team with 186 yards rushing
- Quarterback Joseph Nava is the team's second leading rusher with 110 yards.
- Nava is also 49-for-93 for 577 yards and five passing touchdowns.
- Adam Connette is the leading receiver with his 29 catches for 325 yards and four touchdowns.
- Rod Stewart is second on the squad with his 22 receptions for 227 yards

- The Scott Underwood Show is held at 7 p.m. weekly regularly on Mondays during the football season at the Green Mill Restaurant in downtown St. Cloud.  Fans are invited to come out and listen to the show live at the Green Mill and enjoy some great menu discounts available during the show on Monday.  The show is hosted by the voice of the Huskies, J.W. Cox and airs on Granite City Sports (1390granitecitysports.com) from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.

- St. Cloud State fell to Minnesota Duluth last Thursday by a 34-21 score.
- The program fell behind by 20 at the half, but rallied to get to within 13 in the second half.
- SCSU was limited to a season-low 76 yards rushing in the contest and also lost time of possession (37:06 to 22:54) for the first time this season.
- The team did win the turnover battle with Stuart Hamman picking off a pass.
- Justin Czech received his second career start and threw for a career-high 207 yards and two touchdowns on his 13 completions.
