With the 2018-19 season only days away, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) will hold its annual Media Day on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Xcel Energy Center, the home of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff, in Saint Paul. Student-athletes, head coaches and media will converge at Xcel Energy Center for the second straight year to talk about the upcoming campaign and unofficially 'drop the puck' on the NCHC's sixth season of competition.
While head coaches and student-athletes representing all eight NCHC teams will be in attendance for Media Day, fans can also follow along and participate in Media Day from afar like in years past. NCHC Commissioner Josh Fenton's State of the Conference address will be streamed free on NCHC.tv. Fans will also be able to ask questions for the coaches and student-athletes, which will be answered during a "Twitter Takeover" of @TheNCHC and during interviews on Facebook LIVE. Fans can also follow all the action at 2018 Media Day on the NCHC's Media Day Blog on NCHCHockey.com, as well as on the NCHC's Instagram (@TheNCHC) and Snapchat (thenchc) accounts.
Media Day gets underway with the student-athletes' "Twitter Takeover" of the NCHC's account, @TheNCHC. Each student-athlete will answer fan questions on the NCHC's Twitter account for 15 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. CT. Fans may begin submitting questions leading up to Media Day on Twitter by using the listed hashtag next to each student-athlete on the schedule below. The student-athletes will then answer as many questions as they can during their allotted time.
St. Cloud State captain Jimmy Schuldt will take over the Twitter at 10:30 a.m. Use the hashtage #NCHCAskJimmy to submit your questions for Jimmy Schuldt.

The media portion of the day then begins with NCHC coaches and student-athletes being interviewed by various media. In addition to local, regional and national media, the NCHC's premier television partner, CBS Sports Network, will be in attendance, along with St. Cloud State's Husky Productions, to gather interviews and footage for their broadcasts during the season.
Fans will still be able to participate in NCHC Media Day during the afternoon though, as each head coach and student-athlete will be interviewed by St. Cloud State senior forward and broadcast communication major Robby Jackson via Facebook LIVE on the NCHC's Facebook page. Each school (coach and student-athlete) will be on Facebook LIVE for 10-15 minutes to answer questions and talk about their team. If there are unanswered questions from the "Twitter Takeover," those may be answered by the student-athletes on Facebook LIVE, while fans can also ask questions for the student-athletes and head coaches on Facebook by adding a "comment" on the live video (schedule below). The videos will also be archived on the NCHC's Facebook page.
Jackson will open the Facebook Live session by chatting live with Schuldt and SCSU head coach Brett Larson. Join the fun, join the NCHC Facebook Live!
