Coming off of their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid in 2018, the St. Cloud State Huskies baseball team is staying busy in their time away from the diamond this summer.
In 2019, the Huskies' baseball roster will feature 13 seniors, the largest senior class in Head Coach, Pat Dolan's tenure with SCSU. Fans will have the chance to learn more about the senior class in this series of blogs, only available on scsuhuskies.com throughout the summer.Â
In his own words below, proud native of St. Anthony Village, MN and senior southpaw, Zach Siggelkow shares how his summer was.Â
Huskyland -
Thank you for taking an interest in how my summer was. One of these days, we'll have to read about how your summer went too.
I spent the majority of my time working for my dad along with my sister, Sammi at Como Golf Course in St. Paul, the premier place to play golf in the Twin Cities area. I also spent a lot of time at home hanging out with our two dogs, Jake and Harvey. The big project for the summer was working with my mom to help Harvey recognize himself in a mirror.Â
After spending time at home, I embarked on a journey to Bismarck, N.D. to finish the summer out in the Northwoods League with the Bismarck Larks. Soaking up knowledge from Matt Butler and former pitching/life coach Brett DeGagne' was an absolute treat. Having been able to play in the Northwoods each of the last four seasons has been an enjoyable experience, and I hope to see more Huskies playing in the league for years to come.Â
When I wasn't at home or playing ball, I was blind-folded and throwing darts at a Minnesota state map to determine where I would take my monthly road trip. I was fortunate enough to travel to both Minneapolis and St. Paul as well as to Duluth. In Duluth, I visited the Kirby Student Union on the campus of Minnesota Duluth where my grandfather, Edwin Siggelkow has a memorial in recognition of his efforts as the Coordinator of Student Activities from 1955-1967.
Looking forward to seeing the Husky faithful out at Faber this spring!
