BURNSVILLE, MINN. – The amount of "history" the St. Cloud State women's basketball team made in 2020 cannot be measured in simple terms. The Huskies were a force to be reckoned with in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) during the year, concluding the regular season with the most conference wins (16) in program history. Thanks to the team's success, three student-athletes earned All-NSIC honors, the conference office announced Thursday morning.
Three St. Cloud State student-athletes earned either First or Second Team All-Conference honors, extending the Huskies streak to three-consecutive years with three or more All-NSIC honorees. Senior guard Madelin Dammann (Waconia, Minn. / Waconia) was the lone student-athlete to earn First Team All-NSIC honors for St. Cloud State, while Nikki Kilboten (Eau Claire, Wis. / Eau Claire North) and Tori Wortz (Hutchinson, Minn. / Hutchinson) were Second Team All-Conference honorees.
Dammann saved the best for last, as the senior earned All-NSIC honors for the first time in her career after a spectacular final season with the Huskies. As a senior, Dammann was the definition of consistency, as she played and started all 26 games for the Huskies and led the team in total points (348), points per game (13.4), three-point field goal percentage (.403), three-point attempts (129), three-pointers made (52), free throw percentage (.903) and steals (42) during the regular season. Dammann additionally ranked in the top-3 on the team in minutes played (32.4) and field goal percentage (.451) and was a top-5 rebounder throughout the season.
It was Dammann's consistency, though, that earned her All-Conference honors, as she put up nearly identical numbers in NSIC play. In 22 conference games, Dammann averaged 13.5 points per game while shooting .466 from the floor, including an impressive .407 mark from three-point land. Additionally, the senior ranked 15th in the NSIC in scoring (13.5) and helped the Huskies finish the regular season with the No. 3 defense in the conference, surrendering an average of 63.5 points per game during the 2019-20 year.

Kilboten earned Second Team All-Conference honors after being named to the All-Defensive Team in 2018-19. A stalwart defensively for St. Cloud State, Kilboten's offensive game came to life her junior season, as she was one of five starters to average double-digits in points per game during the regular season. Thanks to her outstanding February, Kilboten tallied a career-high 340 points during the regular season, averaging 13.1 points per game while leading the Huskies in total rebounds (194), rebounds per game (7.5), defensive rebounds (148), offensive rebounds (46) and blocks (42). She was even better in conference play, as Kilboten was fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (8.0) and finished fifth in the conference field goal percentage (.490) entering the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament.
Wortz earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season as she lived up to the NSIC Player to Watch honor bestowed on her at the beginning of the 2019-20 season. St. Cloud State's go-to offensive weapon for the majority of the season, Wortz entered the playoffs averaging 13.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and racked up 40 steals, 80 assists and five blocks. The junior was even better in NSIC play. While Wortz shot a career-high .401 from the field her junior season, she shot .413 against conference opponents, including a .415 clip from beyond the arc. She led the team in points per game in conference play thanks to her 13.5 average and finished with a team-leading 36 steals against NSIC opponents.
Dammann, Kilboten and Wortz along with the entire team will continue their season this weekend, as the Huskies face Augustana University in the quarterfinal of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament. The quarterfinal showdown is set to start at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
