Sanni Ahola earned WCHA Rookie of the Week honors for the second time in her career

Freshman Sanni Ahola has been named WCHA Rookie of the Week for the second time in her career following her efforts against Bemidji State last weekend as announced by the league on March 1. This is the third weekly award Ahola has earned in her debut season, as she was named Goaltender of the Week on February 9 and Rookie of the Week on December 1.
Ahola played a masterful game against the Beavers in Friday's 3-2 overtime win, helping SCSU record their first WCHA series sweep since 2018. She recorded 31 saves on 33 shots (.939) earn her fourth win of her freshman season. The Finnish tender made four saves in overtime, keeping the Huskies' hopes alive until Jenniina Nylund scored the game-winner.
Jenniina Nylund (Forward), Hannah Bates (Defenseman) and Emma Polusny (Goaltender) were each named Honorable Mention at their respective positions.
St. Cloud State has now seen five WCHA Weekly Awards bestowed on their players, as Emma Gentry has been named Rookie of the Week twice to go with Ahola's Goaltender and two Rookie honors.
