BURNSVILLE, MINN. - It's been a season for the St. Cloud State University women's basketball team and fifth year senior Nikki Kilboten (Eau Claire, Wis. / Eau Claire North). On Monday, the forward garnered her second Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honor of the season, as she was named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week after leading the Huskies to their first regular season sweep of Minnesota-Duluth since 2017-18.
Kilboten was St. Cloud State's top offensive player against the Bulldogs, as she scored a game-leading 21 points in the 71-67 victory. The fifth year senior scored 11 of her points in the second half and seventh in the fourth quarter alone, helping the Huskies rally to their rival in the closing seconds. Additionally, Kilboten finished just shy of a double-double, as she pulled in a team-leading nine rebounds with one block and one steal, and scored 11 of her points in the second half.
This is Kilboten's second NSIC honor of the season, as she was named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week after leading St. Cloud State to victories over Northern Michigan and Minnesota-Duluth. So far this season, Kilboten is averaging 12.1 points per game and 22.5 against the Bulldogs.Â
Kilboten and the rest of the Huskies will return to action on Friday, January 7 when they host Concordia-St. Paul at 7:30 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall.
