Peplinski and Peterson named Assistant Coaches Ahead of the 2022-23 Season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Head Coach Lori Fish has announced the addition of Mattea Peplinski and Caitlyn Peterson to the coaching staff. Peplinski and Peterson will serve as assistant coaches for the Huskies.
Â
Peplinski brings a variety of basketball experience to St. Cloud State thanks to her coaching and playing career at UW-Oshkosh. The 2021 graduate compiled a 55-16 record and three WIAC Tournament Titles with the Titans. In addition, Oshkosh claimed the 2020-21 WIAC Regular season championship and made a pair of NCAA Division III tournament appearances in 2018-19 and 2019-20. She spent last season as a student assistant, helping the Titans make the Elite Eight in the NCAA Division III tournament.
Â
In addition to serving as a student assistant at UW-Oshkosh, Peplinski spent the past two years coaching 15-17U girl's basketball for the WI Playmakers AAU program. She was invited to participate in The Women's Basketball Coaches Association's 2022 "So You Want To Be A Coach" program. She was the only Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference participant in the program this past year.
Â
Peplinski graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation science. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in clinical exercise physiology at St. Cloud State University.
Â
Caitlyn Peterson is no stranger to the Huskies. The graduate student finished her fifth season with SCSU during the 2021-22 campaign. In her time as a Husky, she saw the court for over 100 games shooting 37% from the floor for the Huskies. The Huskies appeared in five consecutive NSIC tournaments from 2017-2022 and won the 2020 NSIC Tournament Championship. In addition, St. Cloud State appeared in the NCAA Regional Tournament the last three seasons. Caitlyn was named team captain in her final two seasons with the Huskies and received the Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award during the 2020-2021 campaign.
Â
Caitlyn has been an assistant coach in both the North Tartan (4th and 6th grade) and MN Comets (8th grade) programs the past two summers.
Â
Peterson graduated from St. Cloud State with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2021 and is pursuing a Master's in higher education and administration at SCSU.
