
St. Cloud State Women’s Basketball Adds Two for 2025-26 Season

Elise Groppoli & Laynie Meister will be joining the Huskies next fall
St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Head Coach Lori Fish has announced the additions of Elise Groppoli and Laynie Meister to the program on Friday.
Elise Groppoli – Guard – 5'4 – Mendota Heights, MN – Hill Murray High School
Elise Groppoli is a senior at Hill Murray High School in Maplewood, MN.
Groppoli is a two-time all-conference selection, All-State honorable mention selection, and has been a captain for two seasons with the Pioneers. She averaged 14.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in her junior season. Groppoli is also a member of the Hill-Murray volleyball and track and field teams and holds the school record for the 4x100 relay. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and is a Future Leader Scholar.
Groppoli is the daughter of John and Kadi Groppoli. She plans to major in either nursing or speech pathology.
Laynie Meister – Post – 6'1 – Rochester, MN – John Marshall High School
Laynie Meister is a senior at John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN.
Meister is a two-time All-Conference selection and two-time captain for the Rockets. She averaged 12.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in her junior season. Meister is also a member of the John Marshall volleyball team, where she was the team MVP, earned All-Conference honorable mention, named to the Big Nine Scholar Athlete Honor Roll and selected Academic All-State this past season. Meister is a 5-year letter winner in both volleyball and basketball for the Rockets.
Meister is the daughter of Kurt and Angie Meister. She plans to major in Pre-Law.
