St. Cloud State Men’s Soccer Concede Twice in Second Half in 2-0 Loss to Saginaw Valley State

Huskies drop third straight match
University Center, MI. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (4-11-1, 2-9-0 GLIAC) were shutout Friday afternoon as they fell to Saginaw Valley State. The Huskies battled to a 0-0 halftime score but conceded twice in the second half to be defeated.
The first half was a very heavy defensive battle between the teams. St. Cloud State was stout as they held the Cardinals without a shot for the first 32 minutes of action. Both teams registered three shots in the first half, but the Huskies were able to apply pressure with four corner kicks to the Cardinals two. Neither team tallied a shot on goal.
The second half saw the offense pick up as Matteo Bosch landed the games first shot on goal in the 49th minute, but it would be saved. In the 61st minute, the Cardinals broke the tie with a goal by Angel Aguilera to give them a 1-0 lead. The Huskies battled as they strung together multiple shots, but the Cardinals capitalized on a counterattack to take a 2-0 lead in the 68th minute. St. Cloud State produced only one more shot in the game, which came on goal, as they were defeated 2-0 against Saginaw Valley State.
